Each piece is designed to be used and handmade right here in the studio on the Surf Coast of Victoria, Australia. Made to be enjoyed every day.
Tableware is made from Australian stone ware, using food safe studio glazes. All Takeawei tableware is microwave and dishwasher safe.
Terracotta is used for warmth and texture in our lighting and objects.
All online lamps and tableware items are only listed when available for immediate delivery. Pendant Lighting is a 4-6 week turnaround as these pieces are made to order. 
Meet the Maker
Chela studied textile design in Melbourne in the early 2000s and after graduation set her sights on working in New York. With a love of colour and pattern she landed a Manhattan job at the right time for print and bold colour, designing for Vera Wang and DKNY among other brands. After meeting a potter in Brooklyn, she fell in love with ceramics and soon after moved back to Melbourne and started Takeawei.
Chela now spends her days creating ceramics and teaching workshops from her picturesque studio in Torquay, on the Surf Coast of Victoria in Australia.
Teaching
Chela enjoys bringing ceramics to a wider community from kinder and school groups to corporate team building classes at the Torquay studio. Chela has also facilitated external workshops in Australia and internationally including: the NGV, Guild of Objects, Craft Victoria, Melbourne University and Choplet in New York.
